# Compliance

> The Amazon Associates rules Guino enforces for you, and why your page looks the way it does.

Several things people expect to see on a product review page are missing from a Guino
page on purpose. This page explains which, and why, so you do not spend an afternoon
looking for a setting that does not exist.

These are Amazon Associates programme requirements. Breaking them puts your Associates
account at risk, which is a much larger problem than a page that looks slightly plainer
than you wanted.

## Always present

<Check>
  **Affiliate disclosure**, near the top of every article, with fixed wording. Guino adds
  it whether or not you ask, and puts it back if it goes missing.
</Check>

<Check>
  **Direct Amazon links** in the form `amazon.com/dp/PRODUCTCODE?tag=yourtag`. No
  redirect chains, no link shorteners, no cloaking.
</Check>

<Check>
  **Sponsored link markup**, so search engines can tell these are affiliate links.
</Check>

You can change how the disclosure looks and where it sits. You cannot remove it.

## Never present

| Not allowed                   | Why                                                                                                        |
| ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Amazon product photos | Amazon's product imagery is not licensed for your page. Guino uses screenshots from your own video instead |
| Star ratings | Ratings change constantly and republishing a stale one misrepresents the product |
| Prices | Same reason, and Amazon is explicit about this. Prices move, and a stale price is a false claim |
| Customer reviews | Not yours to republish |
| Coupon or availability claims | These expire and become false without you touching anything |
| AI generated product images | A picture of a product that is not the product |

<Note>
  Guino does look up product details such as the name, brand, category, rating, and price
  when you paste an Amazon link. Those appear on **your own setup screens inside Guino**
  so you can confirm you have the right item. They never reach your published page, your
  export, or anything a visitor sees.
</Note>

## Images come from your video

Every image on a published review page is a frame from footage you filmed. This is the
single rule that shapes the product most.

It is also why the quality of your upload matters more than it might seem. Better
footage means better frames to pick from, and there is no way to substitute a stock photo
when the frames are poor.

## Language

Guino screens your own text when you publish. Slurs and strong profanity block
publishing. Mild words such as "damn" or "hell" produce a warning only, because "a hell
of a good mount" is normal review writing.

This check runs at publish only, never while you type, so autosave always succeeds.

## Drafts are not indexed

Draft pages carry instructions telling search engines not to index them. Only pages you
publish are eligible to be indexed.

## What is still your responsibility

Guino handles the mechanics. Two things it cannot do for you:

<Warning>
  **Confirm your site with Amazon.** Amazon Associates requires you to list the sites
  where you post affiliate links. Add your Guino address, or your custom domain if you
  use one, to your Associates account.
</Warning>

<Warning>
  **Tell the truth about the product.** Guino writes from your transcript, so the claims
  on your page are the claims you made on camera. Nothing here checks whether they are
  accurate.
</Warning>
